Still shopping in the age of COVID-19…

As many of us around the world are entering yet another phase of opening back up and moving towards getting back to "normal" or should we say the New "Normal". Many are leaving their homes and heading to the local stores to shop. As stores are opening back up and allowing in-store shopping, be sure to double-check to see what new rules they have implemented and guidelines that they are following to keep their customers safe.

Since most stores and shopping centers were closed to the public for an extended period time, most of their spring stock didn't move so many stores are having some KRAZY sales trying to clear out their stock and make room for the incoming summer stock. I have personally seen up to 90% off sales! So if you are brave enough to head out for some in-store shopping be on the lookout for these KRAZY sales.

If you prefer to stick with online shopping there are still many KRAZY deals waiting for you! It is said that June is the perfect time to stock up on undergarments. This in part is thanks to Victoria’s Secret who is known to host one of its famed Semi-Annual Sales in June. Be on the lookout for other retailers like Macy's, Shein, Venus, and AMI Clubwear are sure to offer equally competitive sales in their undergarments department.

As gyms start opening back up you may also consider buying a gym membership during the summer, As we've all likely gotten a little out of shape during our downtime in quarantine... Gyms normally offer sign up deals around this time of year due to the hype of the New Year’s resolutions dwindling and people who signed up as part of their resolutions have since canceled their memberships or due to gyms realize it’s starting to get a little hot out there, here in the Northern Hemisphere. Which may deter some from being active outside and they are looking for cooler places to get their workouts in. Then there's this year where gyms have been closed down for two months or more… Regardless of why, the fact remains, Gyms seem to be more eager for sign-ups at this time of the year. So look for those offering deals and discounts on their memberships. As with in-store shopping, be sure to double-check to see what new rules they have implemented and guidelines that they are following to keep their members safe.

Did you know in the United States, Flag Day is June 14th? Flag Day honors and commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States which occurred on June 14th, 1777. Retailers in the past have been known to offer Flag Day deals and even Flag Day sidewalk sales. So be on the lookout for those on Sunday, June 14th, 2020.

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 21, 2020. Father’s Day commemorates fatherhood and gives us all a chance to celebrate and appreciate all fathers and father-figures including grandfathers, great-grandfathers, stepfathers, foster fathers…etc. Like Mother’s Day retailers offer an abundance of deals and specialty gifts just for dad!

Lastly, we have the first day of summer known as the Summer Solstice on Thursday, June 20th, 2020! You know what that means? Summer Sales GALORE!!

Always looking to save money on my online purchases one of my go-to coupons and coupon code browser extension is Honey. I also recommend using cashback apps to earn money back on your every day in-store and online purchases. My favorite cashback apps are IbottaRakuten, and Fetch Rewards.

Why Online Shopping is the Best Way to Shop

Why Online Shopping is the Best Way to Shop
This post contains paid affiliate links, please read our Advertising Disclosure Statement

Do you love shopping? Or do you hate it? Regardless of your answer, online shopping is for you! Online shopping gives you so many more benefits than purchasing in the brick and mortar stores. Sure, you can’t hold products in your hands, but stores have done many things to overcome this. If you’re not convinced, consider this.

Convenience

If you want to go shopping in a brick and mortar store, you’re going to need at least 30 minutes to get there and back. Add to that the time it takes to browse, and then waiting in line, and it’s going to take you at least an hour or more just to buy one thing. Shopping online, you can be done in as little as 5 minutes. That time can be spent on the comfort of your couch rather than on your feet browsing a store.
Online customer service has improved as a lot of businesses use conversational commerce to help you find what you need. If you have questions or concerns, most websites feature live chat support. You can also read reviews to get a better idea of how customers have enjoyed the product.

More Options and Sizes Available

Have you ever found the perfect article of clothing in a store? It’s the right color, and just your style, but not your size? Or maybe it’s your size, but not the right color. This isn’t much of a problem online. Companies can stock much higher inventories online than in-store. If for some reason the item that you want is not in stock, then you can still buy it and it will be shipped to you as soon as it is back in stock. This makes it so that you can be sure to get exactly what you wanted.

Free Returns

Some people refuse to shop online. If you ask them why they will probably say that they don’t believe that they can trust that the clothing will fit right. Online stores understand this. So they’ve created free returns. These days almost every successful online shop offers free, no-hassle returns. That means that you can return an item for almost any reason for free. You just have to make sure that you do it within a certain time frame and that the tags are still on.
At the end of the day, the most important thing about shopping is that you get the item that you paid for. Online shopping offers a quick and easy way to do that. You don’t have to waste your day going from store to store. All it takes is a few clicks and then wait for it to come in the mail.

May Shopping Guide 2020

Shopping in the age of the COVID-19 Pandemic May 2020

Shopping in the age of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

It's really easy to lose track of time and days when you're in the middle of a pandemic and in quarantine…

With countries, states, counties, and cities still on lockdown or slowly starting the reopening phases which are still limiting our abilities to move around freely for our normal shopping trips and with job layoffs and furloughs still effecting so many people most of us are still just focusing on necessity shopping only. So not much has changed... We're still finding ourselves ordering most of those necessities online, either for delivery or for pick-up while the world is still practicing social distancing.

As grocery shopping is an essential part of everyday life, grocery stores are making it even easier for you to get those essentials without ever having to step foot in their store, with grocery pick-up and even delivery directly to your front door. Walmart Grocery has a grocery pickup and even offers home delivery in some areas. Target offers home delivery through Shipt.

Other grocery stores that offer grocery pick-up and/or delivery are Publix, Aldi, Kroger, Wegmans, Costco, Wholefoods, Albertsons, Sprouts…etc. Another service similar to Shipt which partners with hundreds of retailers nationwide that offer grocery delivery straight to your door is Instacart.

Grocery delivery companies are not anything new, some are even solely online grocery companies such as Boxed, Thrive Market, AmazonFresh, FreshDirect and Misfit Market.

In these uncertain times saving money on basic necessities is as important as ever. One of my go-to coupon and coupon code browser extensions is Honey. I also recommend using cashback apps to earn money back on your everyday purchases. My favorite cashback apps are Ibotta, Rakuten, and Fetch Rewards.

Most companies are still experiencing unusually high order volumes, and product shortages resulting in shipping delays and products out-of-stock Due to high demand, orders could be delayed. Please be patient as our truck drivers, stock personnel and delivery drivers work tirelessly to keep up with the current supply and demand.

Shopping in the age of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Normally this guide would consist of me telling you about the best things to buy and the best deals for this month. However, so much has changed in our world in such a short period of time, especially the way we are shopping.

With countries, states, counties, and cities going on lockdown, limiting our abilities to move around freely for our normal shopping trips and with job layoffs and furloughs most of us are focusing on necessity shopping only. Tips for Finding a Budget-Friendly Repair Company to Fix Your Heater

Tips for Finding a Budget-Friendly Repair Company to Fix Your Heater
This post contains paid affiliate links, please read our Advertising Disclosure Statement

Is your heater broken? Have you checked your furnace filter, your thermostat, the electrical panel, The pilot light, the vent, and you still haven't solved the issue? Are you looking for tips on how to find an affordable repair option? Well, lucky for you, this article is here to address both your financial and heat repair needs.

Search for Reviews

To begin looking for an affordable option that addresses your needs, you will want to investigate heating repair companies near you. After finding some service options, begin searching online for reviews of the individual companies, since the internet is now a company's primary method for interacting with the public/potential customers. These reviews will give you an idea of what to expect in regard to the cost and quality of the repair. The nature of the reviews should figure prominently into your decision because online feedback is a reliable indicator of what to expect of a company's services. According to Podium, when companies receive positive feedback and high ratings, you naturally have a better impression of them and will choose them over other companies.

Ask Your Friends

According to Omega Heating & Air, you'll also want to ask your friends for potential repair options. The suggestions they provide may be more reliable because of the prior personal relationship you have with your friends, as opposed to the basically anonymous online reviews. Also, if your friends do have recommendations, they might have connections to a particular company, and as a result, be able to hook you up with a good deal and special attention.

Find Special Deals

Continuing from the previous section, you will want to do the best you can to find good deals on the services you are looking for. You can find these either through a friend or by contacting the company themselves to get an estimate. When you contact the companies you are considering for estimates, it would be in your best interest to inquire about possible deals they could offer you. A company may not advertise a deal, but if you push them on it (e.g., by stating your budget) they might relent and give you a good deal. In any case, try what you can to get the service for as cheap as possible

Check Services

When researching heating repair companies, it's also a good idea to evaluate the services they provide to ensure that they do indeed do the work you need to be done. Some HVAC companies have more limited, specialized services, and may not be qualified to perform the service you are in need of. To this point, you should look for HVAC companies who specialize in heaters specifically, as this is the best way to ensure the quality of your repair.

Ask About Rebates

Manufacturer rebates can often be the best way to save money on repairs. Sometimes manufacturers will offer special deals on maintenance work on new equipment, as a way of maintaining their integrity as a company when the integrity of their product has been compromised in some way. So, ask if there are any special rebates on your heater when you contact the repair company.

Collect Quotes

As you contact different companies in search of estimates, it is a good idea to keep a record of these quotes, for comparative purposes. Once you have collected a substantial amount of quotes, begin comparing them by price and value. Don't merely choose the cheapest option. According to the Credit Union of Texas, a bid that is significantly lower than others could be a sign that the company cuts corners or uses cheap, low-quality materials. Obviously, you want to get the best "bang" for your buck, so you will want to ensure that, for the price, you are getting a guarantee of quality and lasting work. Also, make sure that they are providing all the services you are in need of. No one wants to hire someone to do a job, pay them for it, only to discover that more work is necessary and that the company you hired can't provide that service.

When beginning your search for heating repair options, it’s important to look online and read reviews of the company. Don't just look for the star rating — actually read people's comments on the company, as these will be far more informative than the star rating. While you are doing this online research, it is also a good idea to consult your friends and family about possible repair options. You want to cast as wide a net as possible to ensure you get the best deal possible. Once you've narrowed your search a bit, you will want to start contacting companies, collecting quotes, and probing for special deals and manufacturer rebates. Make sure you compare the estimates closely to ensure that you are getting the highest value service you can get.
